Precincts are way stations caught in a crossfire between Heaven and Hell. Infernos stoked with the sins of murder, mayhem, and molestation. New piles of that shit get piled onto an already large mound of shit.
Each day cops struggle to dig themselves out from under the muck and mire that crossfire produces. An exercise in futility, really. No matter how much good they do, the amount of penance they pay, that deluge of shit they deal with always has them coming up short on the price of a ticket out.
